Power supply resumes at Unoosaki lighthouse in Soma

The Unoosaki lighthouse in Soma, Fukushima Prefecture, has resumed full operations after power was restored 19 months after the March 11, 2011, earthquake and tsunami.
As a result, the lighthouse is now fully able to help ships safely navigate the waters off Fukushima Prefecture.
The Japan Coast Guard’s office in the prefecture, the Fukushima Coast Guard Office, unveiled the lighthouse to the media on Nov. 1, which is observed as “lighthouse day” in Japan [I did not know that!]. . . . more

Bridgeport couple’s lighthouse on display at Maritime Aquarium
A model lighthouse made by a Bridgeport couple is helping to light the way for visitors in The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk as part of the aquarium’s 11th annual “Festival of Lighthouses.” – more

I am not too sure if I have mentioned this museum before, but they have just merged two collections of lighthouse artifacts and so deserve a mention.
The Maine Lighthouse Museum (MLM) is the proud home of the largest collection of Fresnel lighthouse lenses and the most important landmark collection of lighthouse artifacts and Coast Guard memorabilia in the United States. – more

You have all heard of The New Yorker magazine (I hope). The cover art is usually art of noted artists. One of the artists for a couple of covers was Charles Samuel Adams (American, 1912 – 1988), and one of his covers was the one at the left:

According to the Heritage Auctions website this watercolour sold for $15,000 USD.
Another lighthouse cover of his was Valentines one (left) which hit the February 10, 1951 issue of The New Yorker. A third cover I found was this November 30, 1946 one on the right entitled Thanksgiving.

DreamWorks poised to shine ‘The Light Between Oceans’
DreamWorks Studios announced today that it has entered into exclusive talks to acquire the feature film rights to The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman. The novel, which was just released in the U.S. in July, is already an international bestseller. The story revolves around a lighthouse keeper and his wife who discover a baby on an abandoned boat. The couple decide to raise the child as their own, leading to complicated moral questions and consequences. -. . . more
